I'm Paul Haley, an Ipswich (U.K.) based musician/producer....

I set up Spontin Music in May 2005 to offer a range of music related services including:

Tuition

I teach Guitar to a high standard but also Bass, Keyboards and Drums for beginners. Spontin Studios features all the equipment necessary for you to make a start on any of these instruments in one convenient location.

My unique offer is to teach you your favourite song over a number of weeks at a pace which is comfortable to you, record you playing the song once you're happy with your performance and then burn you a CD of the recording to take home with you!

Recording @ Badger's Spontin Studio

Spontin Studio is located on my house boat "Badger" and can accommodate anything up to a 5 piece rock band and features 10 simultaneous live channels of multi-track hard disk recording into Cubase SL Version 2.0.

Or, any number of channels can be laid down individually and overdubbed, only constrained by the processing power of my Apple iMac!

My normal approach with overdubbing is to record 3 songs per recording day over a 10 hour period

Rates start at £15/hour meaning that if you're well rehearsed a great quality, 3 track demo can be produced for around £150.

My speciality though is LIVE RECORDING where it is possible to record, mix and master a whole album in a day for the same £150, if you're a well rehearsed act....

Live Performance - "Litmus"

I also offer a solo guitar & vocal set, under the name "Litmus", which is ideal for smaller venues that do not have a full entertainment licence. The set includes original material and a range of covers by such artists as The Beatles, Crowded House, The Smiths, Coldplay and Foo Fighters.

Rates are £50/hour of performance time

Or if you would like a fuller sound Litmus can offer a duo made up of either two guitars and vocal or guitar, bass and vocal

Duo rates are £75/hour of performance time

Event Management - "Spontin Music Presents..."

If you would like to put on a musical event I can help with the whole process!

This includes selecting & booking a suitable venue, selecting and booking the artists/bands to play, setting up and operating the sound system and, if you like, even recording the whole event for prosperity!

Standard Rates are £20/hour + set up time & equipment hire, but if you're planning an event give me a call to talk turkey!

Artist/Band Management

If you're a local music act I can help you increase your profile by taking on all aspects of management for you.

This includes getting you gigs at the best local venues, recording your demo's, promoting your gigs and record releases and getting you exposure in the local media.

A flat rate of 10% of earnings applies (+ expenses at cost) so if you're interested give me a call
